Careers Resources

We have a full range of careers resources in our School Library. We also have access to software that will allow students of all ages access up-to- date careers information.

Careers is taught as a stand alone subject for all year groups (see curriculum tab). Elements of the Careers curriculum are also covered in many other subject areas as well as in PSHE.

Work Experience

Work experience is an integral part of career planning. At Oaklands, pupils from Year 11 and 12 will complete a week of work experience during the year.  This experience integrates the material from career based learning; it is designed to provide opportunities for real life experience.  Whenever possible, pupils attend careers fairs and outside speakers are invited to come in and talk to the pupils about their careers pathway and progression.
